My background

Hi, I’m Yashoda, a dedicated and compassionate midwife with over 25 years of experience supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood. With a background in both the NHS and private sector, I have worked with a diverse range of families, including high-profile clients and those with unique cultural needs.

FAQs

  • Every day I see how the new parents struggle with their parenting journey. Sometimes it’s just the basic information that you need to understand beforehand. It’s like learning to drive and any new thing you do in your life. You always have some preparation and understanding about what you are stepping into. So why do you take parenting so lightly?

  • This has so many benefits to you and your baby. Evidence and research has shown this has a huge impact in first few days of feeding. This definitely increases the colostrum and allows the milk to come in quicker.

Another reason is we never know how the labour and birth will unfold. Colostrum harvesting will help immensely if your baby ends up going into the neonatal unit for any reason, as during this time, this will allow food for your baby, preventing additional supplementation.

  • These days our lives are so busy and we only have such a small window to enjoy the first few weeks of being parents.

My aim is to support you in understanding what you are stepping into and enabling you to give the best possible start to the little person you are bringing into this world.

  • My teaching is based on current research and up to date knowledge. Alongside valuable years of experience, working with parents of all different backgrounds, I am also a very proud parent of two grown up children.

Based on personal experience in my own parental journey, parent coaching is a must in helping to guide your little one’s future.

  • I constantly hear from parents how they have spent hours listening to advice on how to prepare for labour and birth, but little advice on what do after having the baby.

My method of teaching is practical and individualised to each and every person depending on their background and beliefs. Guidance will be non biased and non judgmental regardless on whether you decide to have an elective caesarean or vaginal birth.
